I’m Michelle O’Connor-Ratcliff, and thank you so much for your interest in my re-election campaign. I’m proud of the work I’ve helped lead over the past 8 years, and I’m excited about the positive momentum in Poway Unified. There is still work to be done. I’ll keep putting our children first until every student feels safe, valued, engaged, challenged, and successful. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote.

As an alumna of PUSD, daughter of two retired PUSD teachers, and parent of two current PUSD students, I am invested in the continued excellence of our district. With degrees from Stanford University and UC Hastings Law, I teach Business Law at the University of San Diego and serve as a Girl Scout troop leader, PTA Board member, and Theater Booster. I’m also a certified Special Education Advocate and a former elected member of the Rancho Penasquitos Town Council. [For a more comprehensive resume, check out my LinkedIn profile.]
I am a passionate advocate for public education. My work on the School Board has led to important shifts in Poway Unified’s culture and priorities. Over the years I led efforts to build student inclusion and belonging, increase community participation in district goal-setting, and open opportunities through innovative educational programming. I have a particular passion for special education excellence. I’ve stayed engaged with frequent school visits, parent meetings, and professional learning. Being present to support student events and staff initiatives has helped me develop trust and cooperation among stakeholders.
I need all of your support so I can win this election and keep steering the positive change.
